Job Summary
Procurement Engineer - Lighting. Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Industry: Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing. Function: Purchasing. Role: Full‑time.
Salary: 7000-11000 (per month, based on similar jobs in the city; final offer to be confirmed by employer).
Core Responsibilities
- Register and record all purchase orders, contracts, renewals, and procurement details in renewal management or procurement software.
- Manage supplier registration, supplier records, payment terms, payment modes, contract details, and vendor documentation.
- Create material part numbers and item codes in the system for lighting products, solar materials, electrical components, and project-related supplies.
- Procure materials according to approved LPOs, contracts, project specifications, delivery timelines, and customer requirements.
- Source materials from approved suppliers and compare quotations based on price, quality, technical compliance, delivery lead time, and commercial terms.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, delivery schedules, payment terms, and procurement conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Release LPOs and coordinate supplier or subcontractor payments in line with company approvals and finance procedures.
- Submit customer invoices and support approval of supplier and subcontractor invoices after checking delivery status, supporting documents, and contractual terms.
- Work closely with the finance team to resolve supplier payment terms, customer billing matters, invoice discrepancies, and procurement‑related commercial issues.
- Plan material movement, shipment schedules, and delivery routes to and from project sites, warehouses, and customer locations within the UAE.
- Submit freight enquiries, negotiate with freight forwarders, compare logistics options, and book shipments according to project requirements.
- Track material inflow and update the sales team, project managers, warehouse, and customers on expected arrival dates and shipment status.
- Inform the warehouse, customer, and internal teams when materials arrive and arrange delivery to warehouse or site according to INCOTERMS.
- Assist project managers in coordinating with vendors for timely material delivery, site readiness, project scheduling, and delivery documentation.
- Maintain a region‑wise database of freight forwarders to support faster logistics planning and better shipment coordination.
- Visit Sharaf warehouse periodically to check stock items, maintain stock records, verify material availability, and support inventory accuracy.
- Prepare lighting project estimation and design work using Dialux, AGI32, SketchUp, 3D modelling tools, AutoCAD, or related software.
- Prepare project material submittals, compliance statements, technical documents, manufacturer records, and product documentation.
- Maintain complete records for projects, LPOs, estimation files, procurement documents, logistics reports, delivery notes, warranty claims, and stock movement.
- Follow up on warranty claims with manufacturers or suppliers and arrange product replacements as required.
- Maintain spares stock, sample order records, replacement materials, and project‑related inventory for smooth after‑sales and site support.
- Process sample orders and coordinate delivery of samples to project sites, customers, or internal teams.
- Update manufacturer product records on a quarterly basis to keep product information, technical details, and availability status current.
- Attend site visits when required for technical discussions with project managers, sales managers, clients, consultants, or suppliers.
- Support site energy audits when applicable and assist with technical information related to lighting performance, energy efficiency, and product suitability.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, logistics partners, sales teams, project managers, and customers to avoid delivery delays and procurement gaps.
- Ensure procurement activity follows company procedures, project requirements, contract terms, documentation standards, and commercial controls.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or an equivalent technical discipline).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in lighting industry, electrical products, solar products, energy solutions, project procurement, or technical coordination.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, supply‑chain coordination, purchase order handling, and material delivery follow‑up.
- Experience sourcing lighting products, solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting structures, cables, LED lighting products, and electrical components.
- Ability to compare quotations, evaluate supplier offers, negotiate pricing, finalize purchase orders, and follow up until delivery completion.
- Practical understanding of LPO processing, supplier registration, part number creation, invoice coordination, payment terms, and contract schedules.
- Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, warehouses, project sites, customers, finance teams, suppliers, and project management teams.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, procurement software, inventory management tools, and renewal management systems.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and project‑related documentation tools.
- Software knowledge of MS Projects, Primavera, Dialux EVO, AGI32, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar lighting design and project planning tools.
- Ability to prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, lighting estimation documents, product records, and project material files.
- Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage supplier communication, shipment tracking, stock records, site requirements, and project timelines.
- Good commercial judgment with attention to cost savings, discount negotiation, supplier reliability, delivery accuracy, and material quality.
- Comfortable visiting warehouses and project sites for technical discussions, stock checks, delivery coordination, and energy audit support.
- Organized, detail‑focused, and able to maintain accurate procurement, logistics, stock, warranty, and project documentation.
