Role Overview
Process Engineer - STP Systems in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for an experienced process engineering professional with strong knowledge of sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, irrigation systems, hydraulic profiles, PFDs, P&IDs, commissioning, and Dubai Municipality compliance. The role is suited for a technically strong engineer who can review treatment process designs, verify contractor submittals, inspect process equipment, and support reliable delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify process design calculations for sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, irrigation systems, and related process infrastructure.
- Evaluate hydraulic profiles, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, treatment layouts, and process design reports.
- Assess primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes and recommend improvements to enhance performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all process engineering works comply with Dubai Municipality standards, project specifications, applicable guidelines, and international codes.
- Review contractor technical submittals for process equipment, systems, materials, installation methods, and performance requirements.
- Verify design reports, method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and related technical documentation.
- Coordinate with Dubai Municipality for approvals, comments, clarifications, and process engineering responses.
- Review and respond to RFIs related to process engineering, equipment interfaces, construction requirements, and operational performance.
- Inspect installation of pumps, blowers, filters, clarifiers, chemical dosing systems, odor control systems, and related process equipment.
- Confirm that process equipment meets approved project specifications, performance criteria, quality requirements, and operational expectations.
- Witness factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests for process equipment and systems.
- Monitor installation of process systems to ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control teams to resolve interface issues during construction and commissioning.
- Conduct site inspections, issue observations or NCRs where required, and follow up corrective actions through closure.
- Support QA/QC documentation by reviewing inspection records, test reports, approvals, and compliance evidence.
- Participate in pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for sewage treatment, pumping, irrigation, and process systems.
- Verify system performance against design parameters during testing, trial runs, and process optimization activities.
- Monitor proper calibration of instruments, sensors, control systems, and process monitoring equipment.
- Review O&M manuals, as-built documentation, commissioning records, and handover files for completeness and technical accuracy.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are followed during equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and site activities.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong experience in sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, wastewater treatment, irrigation systems, or water infrastructure projects.
- Practical knowledge of process design calculations, hydraulic profiles, PFDs, P&IDs, process equipment, and treatment system performance.
- Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards, approval procedures, design requirements, and infrastructure compliance expectations.
- Experience reviewing contractor submittals, method statements, material approvals, design reports, RFIs, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes.
- Experience with pumps, blowers, clarifiers, filters, chemical dosing systems, odor control systems, instruments, and control systems.
- Ability to coordinate across civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, QA/QC, contractor, and client‑side teams.
- Knowledge of factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, trial runs, and system optimization.
- Strong inspection, reporting, problem‑solving, and technical review skills.
- Ability to identify non‑compliance, raise observations, support NCR closure, and maintain accurate project records.
- Safety‑conscious approach with strong awareness of environmental standards and operational risk in treatment plant environments.
