Job summary

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills (GIS) seeks experienced Primary Inclusion Teachers to join our IB World School starting January 2027, to empower a diverse, international student body.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Primary/Inclusion with 3+ years of Inclusion teaching experience and a commitment to inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth within a flagship GEMS school.

Qualifications

• Certified professional teaching qualification at degree level (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in Primary/Inclusion.
• 3+ years of solid experience teaching Primary Inclusion, ideally in an IB curriculum school.
• Experience with PYP is preferred but not essential.
• Passion for inspiring young learners through innovative and inquiry-based teaching.
• Commitment to international-mindedness and collaboration within a flagship GEMS school.

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that nurtures individual strengths and learning styles.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse needs, including EAL, gifted, and students requiring additional support.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress effectively, using data to inform teaching and personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB-aligned curriculum plans, resources, and assessments.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community to support student growth and wellbeing.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously enhance teaching practice.
• Uphold the GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile in all aspects of school life.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent in Primary/Inclusion.
• A minimum of 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience teaching Primary Inclusion, ideally within an IBCurriculum School (preferred but not essential).
• Experience teaching PYP is preferred but not essential.
• A passion for inspiring young learners through innovative and inquiry based teaching.
