Job summary

Minor International in Abu Dhabi is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to protect guests and staff in designated swimming areas during business hours. You will monitor water activities, enforce safety rules and be ready to respond to emergencies.

The role requires Lifeguard certification, First Aid training and good communication. You will help set up safety equipment, maintain cleanliness, and support hotel operations to ensure a safe, enjoyable guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of guests and team members within designated swimming areas during posted hours.
• Set up safety equipment including life-saving devices and ensure correct flag placement during business hours.
• Be ready to respond to emergencies and provide rescue as needed.
• Monitor and supervise water activities and enforce safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in pool/ beach areas and assist guests as required.

Job description

• Ensures safety of guests and team members within the designated swimming areas during the posted business hours.
• Possesses Lifeguard certification and authorized to conduct AR and CPR.
• Ensures set-up of safety equipment at the beach/pool which includes set up of life saving floatation devices along the shoreline/around the pool; correct flag must be in placed during business hours; rescue surfboard/boat ready on the shoreline; first aid kit; posting of business hours; depth of the pool; water & air temperatures; wind force & wind speed.
• Keeps the designated and marked swimming areas free of any engine driven boat or alike windsurfers or sea bikes (pedalos).
• Ensures that swimmers/snorkels are out of boat tracks or any hazardous areas.
• Supervises the use of kayaks and paddle board including the log in and log out of guests monitoring the action and engaged in other water activities while out on the sea.
• Responds to any emergency within the hotel resort swimming areas including ensuring that rescue is available at all times.
• Ensures that all water sports activities or pool activities are executed according to Security and Safety regulations.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

• Prompt and courteous delivery of all orders maintaining a positive image through all each guest contact and through cleanliness of guest areas.
• Assure total guest satisfaction in the service of food and beverage through the supervision of prompt and courteous delivery of all Restaurants and Room Service orders
• During shift ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving seating communication with kitchen and by striving to speak to all guests.
• Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well trained staff
• Open and close shift in accordance with Managers Checklist.
• Train maintain and enforce all Anantara Service Standards
• Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all Associates and guests
• Gather and implement all proper tools for running shifts (i.e. schedules floor plans reservations checks)
• Find solutions for problems such as call outs last minute bookings or any other daily problems that may arise.
• Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage
• Ensure that only a quality product is being served
• Maintain proper Associate uniform standards
• Manage an effective repair and maintenance program through the use of work orders inspections etc.
• Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly. Handle daily Associate relations (i.e. scheduling time adjustments etc.)
• Assist any Associate in his/her job performance when required to ensure guest satisfaction. Assist in implementing an effective training program for new and current associates
• Encourage problem solving by Associates through proper training and empowerment to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Establish effective communication with Associates to gain their trust and respect through his/her hard work. Maintain fair and consistent counseling and/or disciplinary procedures in accordance with Anantaras Guarantee of Fair Treatment Policy
• Identify and recommend incentive programs new ideas and methods of operation
