Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in oil and gas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with ADNOC standards and international codes (ASME, ASTM, NACE).
  • Knowledge of engineering software and general business software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all materials engineering and corrosion control activities for ADNOC projects on behalf of the PMC.
  • Oversee EPC contractor deliverables to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Safeguard asset integrity and minimize lifecycle risks.

Job Objective

To lead and manage all materials engineering and corrosion control activities on behalf of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for ADNOC projects, ensuring that material selection, specifications and corrosion mitigation strategies are technically sound, cost‑effective and compliant with ADNOC standards and international codes. The role is responsible for overseeing EPC contractor deliverables, safeguarding asset integrity, minimizing lifecycle risks and ensuring successful project execution within scope, schedule and budget.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Expected: Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Technical Leadership, Governance and engineering oversight across all project phases (FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning).
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and international codes (e.g. ASME, ASTM, NACE).
  • Act as the technical authority for material selection, corrosion management and metallurgy‑related decisions.
  • Review and approve EPC contractor deliverables including material selection diagrams, MSDs, corrosion studies, specifications and datasheets.
  • Ensure appropriate material selection for process conditions including sour service, high temperature and corrosive environments.
  • Validate corrosion allowances, coating systems, cathodic protection designs and chemical treatment programs.
