Job summary

BEUMER Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a PLC Engineer to lead the BHS O&M team on shift, drive fault diagnostics, and implement improvements. You will coordinate with clients and stakeholders, plan maintenance per OEM guidance, and ensure reliable operation of baggage handling systems.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, knowledge of PLCs (Step7/TIA), and experience with BHS interfaces and airport host systems. On-site role.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Experience with baggage/material handling systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of servo drives and inverters (VFD).
• Familiar with Step7/Siemens TI A PLC environments.
• Understanding ProfiBus/Profinet/ASI-Bus RS422/485 and RS232.
• Experience with BHS interfaces and high-level controls.
• Knowledge of CUTE/AODB/MDS airport host systems.
• Experience with VMware virtual machines.
• Data analytics knowledge.
• Familiarity with CrisBelt/CrisBag systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead BHS O&M team during shifts to meet KPIs.
• Prepare Engineering Change Requests and drive improvements.
• Lead troubleshooting during breakdowns and recover systems.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
• Plan maintenance per OEM and site requirements.
• Carry out routine inspections and review breakdowns.
• Raise hotline cases and follow up to closure.
• Prepare incident and daily reports.

Job description

The role of PLC Engineer is to lead and support the Operations & Maintenance team on shift and show a proactive approach towards identifying faults and providing solutions as and when needed.

• Lead BHS O&M Team during the shift ensuring contractual KPIs.
• Preparing the Engineering Change request / continuous system improvements
• Lead the team during the breakdown and guide to troubleshoot for recovery.
• Client & Stakeholders coordination.
• Plan schedule and implement all maintenance activities as per OEM recommendations and local site requirement.
• Carry out routine and random inspection on the system.
• Review all breakdowns and provide solution to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting.
• Raise hotline case as when needed with appropriate information and follow up for closure.
• Preparing Incident reports.
• Validating Daily reports.

Qualifications :

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Experience in Baggage / Material handling system will be an advantage
• Knowledge Servo drives & Inverters (VFD).
• Knowledge of Step 7 PLC TIA PLC.
• Knowledge of Profi-bus Profinet Asi-bus RS 422/485 and RS 232.
• Knowledge of BHS Interfaces HLC/HBS/ATR.
• Knowledge of BHS High level controls system. (SAC Sortation CSC).
• Knowledge of understanding and troubleshooting HLC and LLC logs.
• Knowledge of Airport host systems. (CUTE/AODB/MDS).
• Knowledge of VMware Virtual machines.
• Knowledge of Data Analytics.
