Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH in Dubai is seeking a skilled PLC Engineer to design, develop and commission PLC software for Baggage/Cargo Handling Systems, ensuring high performance and safety across the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation, at least five years of automation experience with Siemens S7 (S7-400/1500), WinCC, and drive systems, and a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on site in Dubai.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of automation experience in baggage/cargo handling systems.
Hands-on Siemens PLC experience (S7-400/1500) and WinCC.
Experience with safety systems and third-party interfaces.
Strong English communication and on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

Develop and commission PLC software while respecting BHS/CHS rules to guarantee high functional performance and meet project requirements.
Analyze mechanical layout, electrical and control drawings to ensure feasibility and timely delivery.
Prepare design documentation such as Functional Design Specification, Operator Manuals and Training Manuals.
Generate commissioning documentation including Method statements, pre-commissioning checklists and test protocols.
Coordinate with design teams, IT and Simulation Engineers on control aspects for commissioning phase.
Provide onsite support to improve system performance and optimize BHS/CHS projects.
Train stakeholders on new products and provide feedback to engineering/R&D teams.
Review customer specifications to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
