Position: Ready-Mix Plant Maintenance Superintendent

Location: Dubai / Abu Dhabi, UAE (Multi-site coverage)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the RMX Plant Maintenance Superintendent will oversee maintenance operations, mobilization, installation, and commissioning of ready-mix batch plants and industrial refrigeration units (ice plants/chillers) across multiple sites. This role will lead site maintenance supervisors, enhance asset reliability, and ensure full compliance with Cemex HSE standards to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Site Leadership: Lead and coordinate maintenance operations across multiple ready-mix facilities. Manage & Mentor Site Maintenance Supervisors to balance department performance with production demands.
• Mobilization& Project Execution: Manage the mobilization, mechanical/electrical installation, commissioning, and eventual handover of new batch plants and associated infrastructure across various site locations.
• Preventive & Predictive Strategy: Establish, optimize, and enforce comprehensive asset management programs, including preventative and predictive maintenance schedules, to minimize operational downtime.
• Refrigeration & Specialized Asset Oversight: Deliver technical leadership for heavy industrial refrigeration applications, including ice plants and chillers, ensuring strict operational standards are maintained.
• Contractor & Resource Management: Define the scope of work for external vendors and third-party contractors, managing resource allocation, major overhauls, and plant shutdowns safely, on time, and within budget.
• Inventory & Spare Parts Governance: Review and authorize major spare parts requisitions, optimizing warehouse inventory levels for critical maintenance materials.
• HSE Compliance: Promote a zero-harm workplace by ensuring that all engineering and maintenance activities are conducted in full compliance with UAE health and safety regulations and Cemex HSE policies.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in heavy industrial maintenance (specifically Ready-Mix or Cement manufacturing).
• Proven experience leading maintenance team in a supervisory or managerial role.

Operational Knowledge & Competencies

• Expertise in the lifecycle management of concrete batching plants (mixers, silos, conveyors, control systems) and industrial cooling systems (ice plants/chillers).
• Advanced knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance methodologies, lean manufacturing concepts, and asset performance tracking.
• Proficiency utilizing CMMS and ERP platforms (preferred experience with SAP).
• Strong coordination skills, with experience interfacing between equipment manufacturers, technical sub-contractors, and internal corporate stakeholders.
• Familiarity with local municipality regulations and permitting across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
• A valid UAE driving license is required due to frequent multi-site travel.

Language & Personal Attributes

• Fluent in English is a must (Arabic or Hindi is an advantage).
• Excellent technical reporting and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex plant metrics clearly to upper management.
