Job summary

XAD Technologies is seeking a Planning Engineer – Civil Construction in the UAE to lead scheduling for complex civil projects. You will develop baseline programs, monitor progress, and report on schedule performance using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop baseline project schedules and tender programs.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Planning Engineer with experience in civil construction projects to develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, analyze delays, and prepare project reports. The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Earned Value Management (EVM), resource planning, and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop baseline project schedules, tender programs, and detailed construction plans in accordance with project requirements and contractual milestones.
• Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Monitor actual project progress against planned targets, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to collect progress data and resolve scheduling issues.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and project performance updates.
• Analyze project delays, critical path activities, and schedule impacts, and assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to monitor project schedule and cost performance.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, manpower histograms, resource allocation plans, and project cash flow forecasts.
• Review construction drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements to support effective planning and execution.
• Participate in project progress meetings and provide updates on milestones, delays, risks, and recovery plans.
• Maintain accurate planning records, progress logs, project correspondence, and schedule documentation.
• Ensure project schedules align with contractual obligations, approved work programs, and completion deadlines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil construction project planning.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of baseline scheduling, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and delay analysis.
• Experience in preparing progress reports, look-ahead schedules, resource histograms, and cash flow forecasts.
• Understanding of EOT claims, EVM, BOQs, and construction drawings.
• Strong coordination, analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• UAE construction experience will be an advantage.
