Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Project Scheduler/Planner to build and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project. You will define milestones, critical paths and WBS, coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams, and monitor progress to present updates to Project Managers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the baseline project schedule using Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Develop detailed engineering procurement construction testing and commissioning schedules
• Establish project milestones and critical path activities
• Create work breakdown structures (WBS)
• Track actual progress against the approved baseline schedule
• Monitor engineering procurement and construction activities
• Identify schedule delays and recommend corrective actions
• Analyze critical and near-critical activities
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams
• Collect progress updates from different disciplines
• Ensure inter-departmental activities are aligned with the project schedule
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
• Generate S-curves, manpower histograms and progress dashboards
• Present schedule status to Project Managers and clients
• Highlight risks, delays and mitigation measures
• Monitor manpower, equipment and material requirements
• Prepare resource-loaded schedules
• Identify resource shortages and optimize resource utilization
• Perform delay impact analysis
• Evaluate extension of time (EOT) claims
• Develop recovery schedules to regain lost progress
• Monitor implementation of acceleration plans
• Monitor long-lead equipment procurement such as transformers, GIS, AIS, EPP, panels, cables and accessories
• Ensure procurement activities meet project deadlines
• Identify schedule risks and constraints and develop mitigation/contingency plans
• Maintain the project risk register related to planning activities
• Develop commissioning schedules
• Coordinate shutdown and energization activities
• Ensure prerequisites are completed before testing and commissioning
• Attend progress review meetings with clients and consultants
• Present schedule updates and recovery plans
• Support Project Manager in decision-making through schedule analysis
