Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Al Ain seeks a Physiotherapist to join the NMCSH‑Al‑Ain team. You will work within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting to assess patients, develop and review treatment plans, and supervise physiotherapy assistants.

The role requires a physiotherapy degree, UAE DOH license, and at least 2 years of practice. Excellent English is essential; Arabic is an advantage. You will collaborate with staff and contribute to ongoing education and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an approved college or university.
• Current license in country of origin with DOH license to practice in Emirate of Al Ain, UAE.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Physical Medicine.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work in a hospital setting in a team-based environment.
• Knowledge of services for aged/disabled persons; ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Identify the patient’s physical problem and develop treatment programmes.
• Assist patients with joint and spinal problems, including post-surgery rehabilitation.
• Supervise physiotherapy assistants and write patient notes/reports.
• Maintain patient statistics and educate patients and carers on prevention and improved outcomes.
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team and attend team meetings.
• Contribute to education programmes for residents, relatives and NMCSH staff.
• Ensure safe, well-maintained physiotherapy equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Record and report adverse clinical events; support quality management and continuous improvement activities.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties in accordance with the philosophy, business practices and policies of NMCSH‑Al‑Ain, and practicing within the standards and ethics of the Physiotherapy profession
  • Working with patients to identify the physical problem.
  • Developing and reviewing treatment programmes.
    • Assisting patients with joint and spinal problems, especially following surgery.
    • Helping patients’ rehabilitation following accidents, injury and strokes.
    • Supervising physiotherapy assistants.
    • Writing patient case notes and reports.
    • Collecting patient statistics.
    • Educating and advising patients and their carers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions.
• Working as a professional member of a multi‑disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participating in team meetings.
• Effectively communicating with staff members, health professionals, clients and family with regards to provision of physiotherapy services.
• Supervising and instructing Physiotherapy Aides.
• Contributing to, and participating in, education programmes for residents, relatives and staff of NMCSH.
• Participating in continuing education and courses updating Physiotherapy techniques and information.
• Ensuring Physiotherapy equipment is adequately maintained and liaising with the HOD for the ordering of supplies and equipment.
• Ensuring Physiotherapy treatments are based on sound evidence of benefit.
• Ensuring all adverse clinical events are recorded and reported.
• Maintaining a safe work environment.
• Assisting in the on‑going maintenance of a safe workplace through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work.
• Identifying and reporting hazards in the workplace.
• Participating in NMCSH Quality Management System and commitment to processes of continuous improvement activities, including auditing, surveys and needs analysis.
• Other duties as directed by the HOD or the Medical Director/Administrator.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved College or University in Physiotherapy
  • Current license in country of origin with DOH license to practice in Emirate of Alain, U.A.E.
  • Minimum 2 years experience of practice in Physical Medicine
  • Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work in cordial conditions in group practice in a hospital set up and as a member of a team
  • Knowledge of the range and type of services available for aged/disabled person
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery to satisfy client and organisational requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes and ability to consult with staff regarding continuous improvement
  • Sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
