Job Title: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (DOH Licensed)

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a valid Department of Health (DOH) license to join our team. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, providing effective treatment for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and disorders. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and helping patients manage pain and improve mobility through a combination of therapeutic techniques, exercises, and manual therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Musculoskeletal Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with musculoskeletal disorders (e.g., back pain, neck pain, joint dysfunction, sports injuries, etc.). Analyse patient medical histories, and physical examination findings, and use diagnostic tools to develop an accurate diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Treatment Planning and Implementation: Design and implement personalized treatment plans focused on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, postural re-education, and pain management techniques. Provide hands-on manual therapy treatments such as mobilizations, manipulations, soft tissue techniques, and joint mobilizations to relieve pain and restore movement. Advise on stretching, strengthening, and ergonomic exercises for patients to perform at home to support recovery and prevent further injury.
• Patient Education and Support: Educate patients about their condition, treatment options, and techniques for managing pain and preventing further injury. Guide patients in improving posture, body mechanics, and lifestyle changes that may help manage or alleviate symptoms. Teach patients self-management strategies, including exercises and lifestyle modifications for long-term recovery.
• Progress Monitoring and Reassessment: Regularly monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on their improvement or any setbacks. Document and maintain accurate, detailed records of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and outcomes. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as orthopedic specialists, surgeons, and general practitioners, to ensure comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal issues. Communicate patient progress effectively with the broader healthcare team and involve family or caregivers where necessary.
• Research and Continuing Education: Stay current on the latest trends, techniques, and research in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Participate in continuous learning and professional development through seminars, workshops, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: A valid Department of Health (DOH) license to practice physiotherapy in Abu Dhabi
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in a clinical, hospital or rehabilitation setting. Experience in treating conditions such as chronic back pain, sports injuries, joint replacements, post-surgical rehabilitation, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Familiarity with modern manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation methods for musculoskeletal injuries.
• Skills: Strong knowledge and experience in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. Expertise in therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, manual therapy, and pain management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Additional Requirements: Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to providing high-quality care. Ability to adapt treatments based on individual patient needs and progress.
