This role is responsible for evaluating patients referred to physiotherapy, organizing and implementing individualized therapeutic programs, and monitoring the patients' progress and response to treatment. It includes the ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding relevant to the area of practice, recognize the role and responsibilities within the patient's plan of care, and demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, evidence‑based practice, and physiotherapy practice through the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychological, and functional needs to develop personalized therapy plans.
• Deliver hands‑on physiotherapy across a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal, neurological, post‑operative, and complex rehabilitation cases.
• Set clear patient‑centered goals and work collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams to achieve meaningful outcomes.
• Continuously adjust and progress treatment plans based on patient response and recovery trends—keeping therapy both safe and effective.
• Use evidence‑based practice and outcome measures to track patient progress and contribute to high standards of clinical excellence.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care across the rehabilitation continuum.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, post‑treatment care, and strategies for long‑term mobility and wellness.
• Monitor for clinical risk factors and prioritize safety at every stage of the therapy process.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation, billing, and reporting in line with internal and external healthcare regulations.
• Contribute to service development initiatives, support clinical education of students or junior staff, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy or a direct entry of a recognized program with attainment of Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience post‑qualification in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of specialty qualification as per the recognized specialty certificate (Department of Health guidelines).
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, and pre‑ and post‑operative rehabilitation, relevant procedures and current best practices.
