Job summary

NMC healthcare LLC is looking for a Physiotherapist in Abu Dhabi to develop and execute treatment programs for patients with physical problems. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in physiotherapy, possess a DOH licence, and have at least two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities include working with patients, supervising assistants, and participating in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure the best patient outcomes. Strong communication skills in English are essential, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties in accordance with the philosophy, business practices and policies of NMCSH-Al-Ain and practice within the standards and ethics of the physiotherapy profession.
• Work with patients to identify physical problems and develop and review treatment programmes.
• Assist patients with joint and spinal problems, especially following surgery.
• Help patients rehabilitate following accidents, injury and strokes.
• Supervise physiotherapy assistants and physiotherapy aides.
• Write patient case notes and reports, collect patient statistics, and educate patients and carers on prevention or improvement of conditions.
• Work as a professional member of a multi‑disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participate in team meetings.
• Effectively communicate with staff, health professionals, clients and families regarding physiotherapy services.
• Contribute to and participate in education programs for residents, relatives and staff of NMCSH.
• Participate in continuing education and courses to update physiotherapy techniques and information.
• Ensure physiotherapy equipment is adequately maintained and liaise with the HOD for ordering supplies and equipment.
• Ensure physiotherapy treatments are based on sound evidence of benefit.
• Record and report all adverse clinical events.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist in the ongoing maintenance of a safe workplace through implementation of safe systems of work.
• Identify and report hazards in the workplace.
• Participate in the NMCSH Quality Management System and commit to continuous improvement activities, including audits, surveys and needs analyses.
• Perform other duties as directed by the HOD or the Medical Director Administrator.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate from an approved college or university in physiotherapy.
• Current licence in the country of origin and a DOH licence to practice in the Emirate of Al‑Ain, U.A.E.
• Minimum two years of experience in practice of physical medicine.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic language is advantageous and desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work in a cordial group practice in a hospital setting and as a member of a team.
• Knowledge of the range and types of services available for aged/disabled persons.
• Ability to review procedures and implement new models of service delivery to meet client and organisational requirements.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes and ability to consult with staff on continuous improvement.
• Sound computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
