Job summary

LEAMS Education seeks a qualified Physics Lab Assistant to support the safe operation of the school's Physics laboratory. You will prepare materials and equipment, maintain a safe, organized space, and manage resources while assisting teachers and students during practical sessions.

You will also monitor inventory, renew supplies, and ensure proper lab hygiene and safety. Previous school lab experience is preferred, with a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Physics or related field.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Physics laboratory equipment, apparatus, experiments, and practical procedures.
• Familiarity with lab safety procedures, equipment handling, storage and emergency protocols.
• Experience maintaining laboratory inventories, equipment registers and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange laboratory equipment, apparatus, materials, and specimens for Physics lessons and experiments.
• Assist teachers in setting up and conducting practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Support students during lab sessions and ensure equipment is used safely.
• Conduct regular checks of lab equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning items.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate replenishment of materials and consumables.
• Ensure the lab is clean, organized and prepared before and after sessions.
• Assist teachers in preparing practical activities, demonstrations and examination materials.
• Collaborate with Physics teachers and school staff to ensure smooth lab operations.
• Carry out other lab-related duties as required by management.
