Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons aligned with the school 's British curriculum and established learning expectations.
  • Develop students ' physical competence, fitness, coordination, tactical understanding, confidence, and enjoyment of sport.
  • Create inclusive learning experiences that enable students of different abilities and backgrounds to participate successfully.
  • Use varied teaching and coaching methods to improve individual performance, teamwork, resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Establish clear expectations for participation, behaviour, safety, and achievement during PE lessons and sporting activities.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback that supports continued physical and personal development.
  • Adapt lessons and activities for students requiring additional support or increased challenge.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, physical wellbeing, active participation, and positive attitudes toward exercise.
  • Contribute actively to extracurricular clubs, sports teams, competitions, fixtures, and enrichment programmes.
  • Coach and prepare students for school sporting events and competitive opportunities where required.
  • Support effective use of the school 's specialist sports facilities, including swimming and indoor or outdoor activity areas.
  • Work collaboratively with PE colleagues and wider school teams when planning curriculum activities, events, and student development initiatives.
