Responsabilidades

• Dispense medications to inpatient as per prescription.
• Review and interpret each prescription before dispensing to ensure strength, dose, and dosage form accuracy.
• Provide patient information and counseling regarding dispensed medications.
• Clarify prescription abnormalities with the prescribing physician.
• Refer unresolved problems to the chief pharmacist.
• Supervise repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications issued to other departments.
• Answer drug-related inquiries from doctors, nurses and customers.
• Refer inquiries that cannot be answered with certainty to the chief pharmacist.
• Assist in training of new pharmacists and staff as directed by the chief pharmacist.
• Perform specialty pharmacy activities as delegated and trained.
• Maintain medicine stock, monitor near expiry medicines, and update the controlled medicines register daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dispense medications to inpatient as per prescription.
• Reviews and interprets each prescription/ medication order before dispensing to ascertain correctness of strength, dose instructions and dosage form.
• Patient counseling- Provides appropriate patient information concerning the dispensed medications.
• Clarify any prescription abnormality with the prescribing physician.
• Any unresolved problems are referred to chief pharmacist.
• Supervise the repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications issued to other departments.
• Answers drug related inquiries received from doctors, nurses and customers.
• Those inquiries which cannot be answered with certainty are to be referred to the chief pharmacist.
• Assists in the training of new pharmacist and pharmacist staff as per the direction of the chief pharmacist.
• Performs specialty pharmacy activities, as delegated and trained.
• Responsible for medicine’s stock, near expiry medicines monitoring & updating controlled medicine register on daily wise.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties, as directed by the chief pharmacist.
• To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Minimum Qualification & Experiences

Essential: the post holder must Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all the qualifications and experience these mandates. Manage their own professional re-licensure. Hold a valid American Heart Associatio n Basic Life Support Provider card. Be willing to work across departments when necessary. Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)

DESIRABLE: The post holder should have : Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter-professionalteam. Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation. Be able to communicate effectively in Arabic
