Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our inpatient pharmacy team. You will dispense medications, review orders, counsel patients, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, effective treatment.

The role requires a Master of Pharmacy, DHA license, at least two years hospital experience, and strong English skills; Arabic knowledge is desirable. You will also oversee stock, unit-dose packaging, and adherence to UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• Master Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• At least two (2) years experience in a hospital as a pharmacist.
• Thorough knowledge of UAE Laws, company policies, regulations precedents applicable to the area of work.
• DHA license.
• Good command of English.
• Arabic is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications to inpatient as per prescription.
• Review and interpret each prescription/ medication order before dispensing to ascertain correctness of strength, dose instructions and dosage form.
• Provide appropriate patient information concerning the dispensed medications.
• Clarify any prescription abnormality with the prescribing physician.
• Refer unresolved problems to chief pharmacist.
• Supervise the repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications issued to other departments.
• Answer drug-related inquiries from doctors, nurses and customers.
• Refer uncertain inquiries to the chief pharmacist.
• Requests received transfers and adjust medication stock and maintain computerized records per established guidelines to ensure drug availability and correct computer inventory.
• Supervise the repacking, labeling and documentation of medications for unit dose distribution.
• Assist in the training of new pharmacist and pharmacist staff as per the direction of the chief pharmacist.
• Performs specialty pharmacy activities, as delegated and trained.
• Responsible for medicine’s stock, near expiry medicines monitoring of rack number 2 & 3.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties, as directed by the chief pharmacist.
• To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.
