Senior Specialist - Performance Management
Role Purpose
The Senior Specialist - Performance Management is responsible for the hands-on implementation and continuous improvement of the Group’s performance management framework and processes.
The role will support the effective execution of the annual performance cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, calibration, performance improvement and related HR processes. The position will work closely with HR Business Partners, managers and employees to ensure performance management practices are consistently understood, applied and aligned with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Management Framework
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Group’s performance management framework, policies and processes.
- Ensure performance management practices are aligned with the Group’s business objectives, people strategy and organisational values.
- Review and improve performance management processes, tools and guidelines to enhance effectiveness and employee experience.
- Support the development and maintenance of performance management policies, procedures, templates and guidelines.
Performance Cycle Management
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end annual performance management cycle.
- Support the implementation of goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end evaluations and other performance milestones.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management processes and requirements.
- Monitor completion rates and ensure performance activities are completed within agreed timelines.
- Identify process gaps and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
Goal Setting & Performance Reviews
- Support managers in establishing clear, measurable and business-aligned performance objectives and KPIs.
- Review performance objectives to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Support the implementation of competency-based and objective-based performance assessments.
- Provide guidance on performance ratings, documentation and performance discussions.
- Identify inconsistencies or recurring challenges in performance assessments and recommend improvements.
Calibration & Performance Insights
- Support performance calibration exercises across functions and business units.
- Prepare performance data, analysis and reports to support calibration discussions and management decision-making.
- Analyse performance trends, ratings and distribution to identify areas requiring attention.
- Provide management with meaningful insights on performance outcomes and trends.
Performance Improvement
- Support managers and HR Business Partners in addressing performance-related issues.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where required.
- Provide guidance on performance documentation, objectives, timelines and follow-up.
- Track performance improvement outcomes and maintain appropriate records.
Systems, Data & Reporting
- Ensure accurate performance management data within the relevant HR systems.
- Prepare dashboards, reports and analytics covering performance cycle progress, completion rates, ratings and other relevant KPIs.
- Support the automation and digitalisation of performance management processes where possible.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of employee performance information.
Stakeholder Management & Capability Building
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners, HR leadership and business managers throughout the performance cycle.
- Develop and deliver manager guidance, training and awareness sessions on performance management.
- Support managers in having effective performance conversations and providing meaningful feedback.
- Act as a subject matter resource for performance management queries across the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related discipline.
- 6-8 years of relevant HR experience, with strong hands-on experience in performance management.
- Proven experience managing or supporting an end-to-end annual performance management cycle.
- Strong understanding of goal setting, KPIs, competencies, performance ratings and calibration.
- Experience developing and implementing performance management processes, policies and tools.
- Experience supporting Performance Improvement Plans and performance-related interventions.
- Strong HR analytics and reporting experience.
- Experience working in a large, complex or industrial/manufacturing organisation would be an advantage.
