Job summary

Target Engineering and Construction Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Painting Engineer to lead painting and protective coating activities on Oil & Gas EPC projects, both onshore and offshore.

You will ensure surface preparation, coating systems, and compliance with international standards, while coordinating with QA/QC, Construction, Client, and third-party inspectors. The role requires minimum 8+ years in painting and coatings, a engineering degree, and NACE/AMPP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector certification is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with blasting, coating inspection techniques, and corrosion protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all painting and coating activities for Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Review project specifications, painting procedures, ITPs, method statements, and coating system requirements.
• Ensure proper surface preparation, blasting, painting, coating, and lining activities are executed in accordance with project specifications and international standards.
• Monitor painting subcontractors and site activities to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
• Conduct inspections for surface preparation, environmental conditions, coating application, dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion testing, and final acceptance.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Construction, Client, and Third-Party Inspectors regarding coating inspections and approvals.
• Identify coating defects and recommend corrective actions to maintain project quality standards.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and utilization of paint and consumable materials.
• Maintain painting records, progress reports, inspection reports, and turnover dossiers.
• Support commissioning and project handover activities related to painting and coating systems.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, project specifications, and client requirements.

YOUR ROLE

As a Painting Engineer, you will have the following key responsibilities including but not limited to:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in painting and protective coatings within Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Experience with refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, offshore, or ADNOC projects is preferred.

Education / Training / Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector certification will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with blasting, coating inspection techniques, and corrosion protection systems.
