Job summary

Dorchester Collection in Dubai is seeking an Order Taker to deliver exceptional In-Room Dining experiences. You will learn through our award‑winning learning academy and strive for the highest standards of craft service and guest leadership, becoming a legend in your own story.

You will warmly greet guests, upsell menu items, train and mentor a team of waiters, and help maintain immaculate service standards.

Qualifications

• Strong guest service mindset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience leading a small team of service staff.
• Ability to confidently upsell menu items.
• Background in luxury hospitality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day In-Room Dining operations to ensure top guest experience.
• Greet guests warmly and answer questions about menus.
• Upsell menu items to maximise guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Train and mentor waiters to maintain high service standards.
• Support other departments to present immaculate outlets and maintain cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the In-Room Dining to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience
• You will be in charge of warmly greeting guests when they call In-Room Dining answering any questions regarding the menus on offer recommending and upselling menu items through your in-depth knowledge ensuring the highest guest satisfaction
• Serving others is your passion you will ensure the outlet is in immaculate condition and all service standards are adhered to by the supporting team members
• You will also be in charge of training and mentoring the entire team of waiters ensuring their knowledge is second to none and they are able to assist our guests in the best possible way

• As an Order Taker you ll have the opportunity to bring these to life and continue to create our legacy
• You are aware of revenue targets and ensuring these are achieved and exceeded simultaneously all costs are controlled within pre-set budgets including beverage cost and other expenses
• By taking part in a daily team briefing pre-service you ensure you are well informed of the daily happenings around the hotel as well as the upcoming service
• During your daily routine you liaise with other departments when required to ensure an immaculate presentation of your outlet and high standards of cleanliness as well as maintenance are upheld at all times including furniture equipment floors fixtures and fittings

Requirements

• You have a talent for delighting guests by leading a team of passionate individuals and striving for excellence
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly
• You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic
• As a detail orientated and hands-on team player with strong interpersonal skills you will thrive on mentoring high potential team members to achieve better results and celebrate success within the team
• English is the primary language used in our hotel
• You can comfortably communicate in this language
• Other languages including Arabic Italian French Spanish or German are highly desirable
• You will have a relevant professional certification or hotel school diploma and bring a wealth of past experience working for luxury hotels and restaurants in the Middle East
• You ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team with your can-do spirit and a positive attitude at all times
