Job summary

Al Boom Marine is recruiting an Optometrist to perform comprehensive eye examinations, provide vision and contact lens solutions, and deliver excellent customer service. The role includes supporting optical sales, customer retention, and daily store operations.

We seek candidates with at least 2 years of experience, a valid Optometrist license (MOH/DHA/DOH), and strong clinical and communication skills. English fluency is required; Arabic or Russian is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience; UAE experience preferred.
• Valid Optometrist license or eligibility letter from MOH, DHA, or DOH.
• Strong clinical, communication, and customer service skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic or Russian is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Eye care & clinical services: conduct eye examinations and vision assessments; diagnose vision problems; prescribe lenses and contact lenses; perform contact lens fitting; maintain patient records.
• Customer service & sales: provide excellent service; recommend lenses and related products; follow up with customers after exams; support sales growth.
• Stock & equipment: monitor contact lens stock and expiry dates; place and follow up on orders; monitor equipment maintenance.

About the Role

The Optometrist is responsible for conducting eye examinations, providing professional vision and contact lens solutions, and delivering excellent customer service. The role also supports optical sales, customer retention, and day-to-day store operations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Eye Care & Clinical Services

• Conduct eye examinations and vision assessments.
• Diagnose common vision problems and prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses.
• Perform contact lens fitting and provide appropriate eye-care guidance.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure professional clinical standards are followed.

2. Customer Service & Sales

• Provide excellent customer service and understand customers’ vision and lifestyle needs.
• Recommend suitable optical lenses, contact lenses, and related products.
• Follow up with customers within three days after eye examinations to ensure satisfaction.
• Build strong customer relationships and support customer retention and sales growth.
• Assist with sales activities when required.

3. Stock & Equipment

• Monitor contact lens stock and check expiry dates every six months.
• Place and follow up on contact lens orders.
• Monitor and follow up on optometry equipment maintenance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or recognized qualification in Optometry.
• Previous experience of at least 2 years is required. UAE experience will be preferred.
• Valid Optometrist license or eligibility letter from MOH, DHA, or DOH
• Strong clinical, communication, and customer service skills.
• Good knowledge of optical lenses and contact lens fitting.
• Customer-focused with a strong sales and relationship‑building approach.
• Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts when required.
• Fluency in English; Arabic or Russian is an advantage.
