Job summary

TradesApp in the UAE seeks an Optician to cut, glaze, fit and repair ophthalmic lenses, and to manage orders and stock with high attention to detail. The role supports sales with lens selection and ensures quality checks on all finished orders.

You should have a relevant Optical Technology qualification and at least 2 years of UAE experience, with flexibility for weekends and shifted hours in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Optician is responsible for lens cutting, glazing, fitting, repairs, order processing, stock control, and quality checks to ensure accurate and timely completion of optical orders.
Salary : 2000 - 4500 AED / monthly

Job Responsibilities

1. Optical Services

• Cut, glaze, and fit ophthalmic lenses according to prescriptions and frame specifications.
• Perform frame adjustments and basic repairs.
• Check lenses and frames for quality and manufacturing defects.
• Assist the sales team in selecting suitable lenses for frames.
• Process and deliver optical lens (OL) orders in the system.

2. Stock & Orders

• Order and maintain RX optical lens stock.
• Conduct regular stock checks and replenish as required.
• Follow up on daily and pending orders and provide timely updates.

3. Quality & Equipment

• Conduct quality checks before completed orders are handed over.
• Follow equipment maintenance and safety guidelines.
• Clean and switch off equipment at the end of the day.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Report any damaged lenses, incidents, or technical issues promptly.

Job Requirements

• Relevant qualification or certification in Optical Technology is preferred.
• Previous experience of at least 2 years in UAE is required.
• Knowledge of lens cutting, glazing, fitting, and frame adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
