Job summary

NMC Healthcare in Dubai seeks an Optometrist to provide high-quality patient care, perform comprehensive eye examinations, and assist in the supervision of the optometry department. The role requires current DHA licensing and an optometry degree, with English fluency and Arabic desirable.

Two years of experience preferred; the candidate will stay updated on new techniques and participate in QA and policy development.

Qualifications

• Graduate with Bachelor of Science in Optometry or equivalent (diploma).
• At least two years of experience in optometry.
• Current DHA license to practice in Dubai and licensed in country of origin.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assume quality of care for all patients and perform eye examinations.
• Conduct contact lens fittings as required.
• Supervise optometry practice and dispensary with department leadership.
• Stay updated on new techniques and best practices in optometry.
• Participate in quality assurance, provider, and staff meetings.
• Assist department head in policy development and quality improvement.
• Maintain knowledge of procedures and equipment maintenance.
• Follow DHA regulations and Joint Commission International norms.

1. Assume quality of care for all patients.

1. Adheres to the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.

1. Perform complete eye examination, contact lens fittings and necessary.

1. Participate in the control of and supervision of optometry practice and dispensary in conjunction with the Medical Director and Head of the Department.

1. Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of optometry field.

1. Participate in quality assurance committee meetings provider meetings, and general staff meetings.

1. Assist the Head of the Department in establishing medical polices, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, policies and procedures.

1. Maintains current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment.

1. To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

1. QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS

1. A graduate of Bachelors of Science in Optometry or its equivalent (diploma).

1. At least two (2) years of experience.

1. Currently licensed in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai UAE.

Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
