We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in Reconstructive Ophthalmology to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage complex ophthalmic and oculoplastic conditions, perform reconstructive surgical procedures, and deliver high-quality patient-centered eye care aligned with international clinical standards.
Diagnose and manage ophthalmic and periocular disorders requiring reconstructive and oculoplastic intervention. Perform reconstructive ophthalmic surgeries including eyelid reconstruction, lacrimal surgeries, orbital procedures, trauma reconstruction, and functional eyelid surgeries. Evaluate and manage patients with orbital diseases, eyelid malpositions, tumors, facial trauma, and tear drainage disorders. Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology consultations. Collaborate with ENT, maxillofacial, plastic surgery, oncology, and multidisciplinary teams for complex reconstructive cases. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, audits, and continuous medical education programs. Provide patient and family counseling regarding treatment plans, surgical procedures, and postoperative care.
MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi. Board Certification / Fellowship in Ophthalmology with subspecialty training in Oculoplastic/Reconstructive Ophthalmology. Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Ophthalmology. Minimum 5–7 years of post-specialist experience in reconstructive ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. Expertise in advanced reconstructive and orbital surgical procedures. Strong communication and patient management skills.
Experience in tertiary eye care or academic medical centers. Exposure to complex orbital and facial reconstructive surgeries. Research and teaching experience is an advantage. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural healthcare environment.
