Job summary

AECOM Middle East Limited - Al Ain is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in Al Ain, UAE. You will ensure construction works meet statutory requirements and contractual obligations, coordinating with contractors and design teams and documenting all activities with precision.

This role offers growth in a collaborative environment, with emphasis on site compliance, QA/QC, and effective communication across multicultural teams on major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in performing statutory duties and technical competent person requirements as mandated by local regulatory authorities in the UAE
• Conduct regular on-site inspections to verify that construction works comply with approved plans, method statements, and safety protocols
• Review and analyze contractor-proposed construction sequences, temporary works, and late-cast openings to ensure structural integrity and feasibility
• Monitor and support the work of the contractor's technical competent persons, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to project standards
• Serve as a liaison between the contractor, site team, and design office, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of construction-related issues
• Identify and document non-conformities with transparency and detail, escalating issues to the Resident Engineer and relevant stakeholders
• Implement and monitor QA/QC systems, site safety protocols, and environmental management practices
• Prepare site reports, inspection records, defect reports, and QA/QC documentation on a regular basis
