Job summary

Altorath International Engineering Consultants L.L.C (AIC) in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Planning Engineer to develop and manage project schedules for engineering and construction projects on-site.

You will create WBS, timelines, allocate resources, and coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment with objectives and timely delivery. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is preferred, GCC experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong planning and production planning skills for engineering and construction projects.
• Candidates should possess analytical skills and project control capabilities to monitor performance, identify variances, and propose corrective measures.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) is beneficial.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline) or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
• Experience in the GCC construction or engineering consulting sector, especially in Abu Dhabi or the UAE, is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment are desirable.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, best practices, and contractual scheduling requirements is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and update project plans and schedules for engineering and construction projects.
• Prepare detailed work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Track project progress, analyze deviations, and prepare regular reports on schedule performance, productivity, and risks, recommending corrective actions when needed.
• Daily tasks include supporting project control activities, maintaining planning and scheduling software data, and contributing to tender and proposal schedules as required.
