Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Inspector - Infrastructure to join its Transportation project team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You will inspect civil construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, and contribute to the delivery of roads, earthworks, pavements and drainage works.

The role requires detailed site inspection, reporting, and coordination with engineers, surveyors and contractors to support project quality, safety and timely

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Relevant professional experience in civil construction inspection for infrastructure.
• Knowledge of road construction, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and concrete works.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and construction specifications.
• Experience with inspection procedures, field testing, and quality documentation.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; UAE infrastructure experience preferred.
• No specified minimum years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect civil construction activities including roads, earthworks, pavements, kerbs and drainage.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Conduct site inspections at various stages to assess workmanship and conformity.
• Verify construction method statements and inspection procedures.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate findings to project personnel.
• Support application of project quality standards across civil works.
• Coordinate with surveyors for setting-out, levels and alignment.
• Witness field and laboratory tests related to earthworks and pavement quality.
• Maintain inspection records, daily reports and testing documentation.
• Follow up on corrective actions for non-conforming works.
