Job summary

Black & Grey HR is seeking an Eventer (Survey Vessel) to join an offshore project delivery team on a permanent rotational basis. You will operate the vessel event/shot system during hydrographic and geophysical survey data acquisition activities, ensuring accurate event triggering, data recording, and support to the survey team offshore.

This permanent position includes rotational offshore deployment onboard survey vessels, working with the Survey Party Chief to maintain event system performance

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in hydrographic survey or related discipline is required or equivalent offshore survey qualifications.
• Hands-on experience with vessel event/shot systems during offshore data acquisition.
• Knowledge of survey positioning and acquisition systems (GNSS/USBL) and marine sensors.

Responsibilities

• Operate vessel event control system to trigger and log survey events per programmes.
• Assist setup, calibration checks, and daily tests of survey acquisition systems.
• Maintain event logs with time, position, line details and quality records.
• Coordinate with Survey Party Chief to configure settings per survey line and ensure data quality.
• Support data backup procedures and respond to event log queries for the processing team.
• Ensure safety, watchkeeping and offshore procedures are followed during operations.
