Job summary
American Hospital Dubai seeks an experienced nursing leader to oversee manpower and resources, delivering the highest standards of patient care and safety. You will respond to administrative issues and coordinate transfers, with the possibility to act as Hospital Administrator when needed.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, international registration where applicable, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum three years full-time) or degree in Nursing with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia
- Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in home country and/or country of last employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, ACLS, PALS and NRP certification (mandatory for supervisors)
- Knowledge of DHA policies and frameworks
- Advanced communication, coordination and escalation skills
- Skilled in conflict management
Responsibilities
- Oversees safe, efficient and economical nursing care in line with standards of practice
- Promotes cooperation and high-quality patient care and customer service
- Responds promptly to patients, families and colleagues in a respectful manner
- Coordinates and facilitates transfers (internal, in, out, international)
- Acts as Bed Coordinator when necessary
- Coordinates nursing manpower plans according to census and acuity
- Participates in hospital-wide and nursing committees
- Identifies emergencies (codes) and manages per policy
