Job summary

Al Sahraa Group is seeking a Nursery Nanny to care for children aged 3 months to 2 years in a on-site setting in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will work with Teaching Assistants and the Nursery Principal to ensure quality care, supervision, and development support.

The role requires ECCE training (≥100 hours) or a Level II vocational certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education, plus prior nursery/childcare experience and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, responsible, and experienced Nursery Nanny to provide high-quality care and support to young children aged 3 months to 2 years. The candidate will work closely with Teaching Assistants and the Nursery Principal to ensure children receive proper care, supervision, and support for their development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children.
• Assist with personal care, including nappy changing, potty training, feeding, handwashing, and general hygiene.
• Closely supervise children during activities, meals, nap times, and play.
• Support Teaching Assistants with educational, physical, and play activities.
• Provide individual attention and support to children when required.
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and maintaining an organized environment.
• Prepare snacks, lunches, and meals while following hygiene and safety standards.
• Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and classroom surfaces.
• Report any safety concerns or hazards immediately.
• Maintain records of diaper changes and other hygiene-related activities.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, feeding, and personal needs.
• Support children's emotional, social, and cognitive development.
• Encourage positive behavior, self-care, and good social interactions.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
• Work collaboratively with the nursery team.

Requirements

• High school certificate plus Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) training of at least 100 hours, OR a certified Level II vocational certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education.
• Previous experience working in a nursery, childcare center, or similar setting is required.
• Good verbal and listening communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Caring, patient, creative, responsible, and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of early childhood development is an advantage.
• Understanding of childcare health, safety, and hygiene practices is preferred.
