Position summary
The Network Technician reports to the Head of IT and works closely with the Network Engineering team. The role provides hands-on field support for installation, replacement and fault resolution, and assists the on-site support staff at residential sites and events. The main objective is to keep network uptime as high as possible through prompt troubleshooting, effective communication and well-planned work.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure and replace network equipment, including access points, switches, routers and CCTV devices, at residential and event sites.
- Diagnose and resolve support tickets promptly, and elevate issues to the Network Engineering team when required.
- Pull, terminate, test and troubleshoot high-performance ELV cabling infrastructure, including Cat6 and fibre-optic cabling, and document all work to company standards.
- Support event deployments through installation, testing, live operations and dismantling, including outdoor work and work outside standard office hours.
- Plan and prioritise daily field activities to make the best use of time and resources.
- Keep the NOC, Network Engineers and on-site support staff informed of work status, findings and outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and spare-parts inventory, and report recurring faults for root-cause analysis.

Qualifications and requirements
- A minimum of three years' experience in network field support or a comparable technical role.
- Sound knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, DHCP, PoE, wireless technologies and basic routing.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise wireless and switching platforms. Familiarity with Ruckus (SmartZone, ICX), Aruba, MikroTik or Ubiquiti is advantageous.
- Proven experience in ELV cabling installation, termination and testing (Cat6 and fibre-optic). Experience with CCTV systems (Hikvision) is desirable.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in Hindi, Urdu or Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A valid UAE driving licence.
- Flexibility to work extended or non-standard hours during events.
