Overview

NDT Technician – Weld Inspection in Dubai supports fabrication quality, code compliance, weld integrity, and project acceptance by carrying out accurate inspections in line with approved NDT procedures, project specifications, and internationally recognized standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform NDT examinations on welds and materials using radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Project NDT Plan, approved NDT procedures, applicable codes, and contractual specifications.
  • Examine welds and materials to identify discontinuities, flaws, defects, or other indications that may affect compliance or performance.
  • Determine acceptance or rejection of inspected work based on defined code, procedure, and specification criteria.
  • Accurately record inspection results, prepare clear NDT reports, and communicate findings to the relevant quality and project personnel.
  • Evaluate inspection results using established operating procedures, scientific methods, and internationally recognized standards.
  • Liaise with assigned QC inspectors to confirm rectification work has been completed before re‑examination.
  • Support the inspection of rectified welds or materials using the original NDT method as required by procedure.
  • Ensure conforming and non‑conforming results are reported properly to support corrective action and project documentation.
  • Maintain inspection discipline, equipment readiness, procedural compliance, and safe working practices during all testing activities.
  • Follow project quality requirements and inspection sequencing to avoid unnecessary disruption to fabrication or site progress.
  • Work independently on assigned NDT activities while escalating unusual or complex inspection findings when required.
  • Support project quality assurance by helping ensure weld integrity, material compliance, and traceable inspection records.
  • Maintain professional coordination with QC inspectors, supervisors, fabrication teams, and project quality representatives.
Ideal Profile
  • Engineering degree, technical diploma, or high school diploma with relevant NDT training and certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in radiographic testing or ultrasonic testing.
  • ASNT or CSWIP qualification is required.
  • Occupational qualification under internationally recognized schemes such as PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, or equivalent competency standards.
  • Practical experience performing NDT inspection of welds and materials in fabrication, construction, offshore, or oil and gas project environments.
  • Strong understanding of RT, UT, MT, and PT inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to assess examination results accurately and sentence welds according to applicable codes and specification requirements.
  • Good knowledge of project NDT plans, written procedures, contractual specifications, and internationally recognized inspection codes.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision while maintaining inspection accuracy and procedural discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, document, and communicate inspection findings clearly.
  • Reliable coordination skills with QC inspectors and fabrication teams during rectification and re‑inspection activities.
