Job Overview

Music Teacher – GCSE and A Level (Dubai, United Arab Emirates). The role is part of the full‑time Primary‑Secondary Education team at GEMS Founders School, delivering engaging British curriculum Music lessons from August 2026. This position is suitable for an early‑career teacher seeking international experience or an experienced educator aiming to advance within the global GEMS Education network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver stimulating Music lessons aligned with the British curriculum.
  • Teach Music across secondary year groups, including GCSE and A Level.
  • Develop student capability in performance, composition, listening, analysis, and music theory.
  • Prepare learners for practical assessments, coursework, internal examinations, and external qualifications.
  • Adapt lesson content and teaching strategies to support different abilities and learning requirements.
  • Set clear learning objectives and maintain high expectations for achievement, conduct, and participation.
  • Assess student work accurately and provide useful feedback that supports measurable progress.
  • Use assessment information to identify learning gaps and refine future lesson planning.
  • Integrate instruments, audio equipment, digital composition platforms, and multimedia resources into teaching.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident performing and expressing creative ideas.
  • Organise or support concerts, productions, recitals, assemblies, competitions, and school celebrations.
  • Encourage participation in choirs, bands, ensembles, music clubs, and other extracurricular activities.

Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor of Education or a bachelor's degree in Music.
  • PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Music at secondary school level.
  • Proven ability to teach GCSE and A Level Music.
  • Strong understanding of the British curriculum, assessment requirements, and examination preparation.
  • Early‑career teachers with relevant training and excellent subject knowledge may be considered.
