Job summary

MBZUAI seeks a Lab Lead to plan, establish and operate a state-of-the-art Multi-Omics laboratory for the Global Human Phenotype Project. You will guide architecture, workflows, biosafety and quality systems while performing bench work and leading the build‑out.

You will recruit and mentor a high‑performing team, coordinate with Global HPP and university leadership, and drive technology transfer, method validation and ongoing Innovation in omics services.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related discipline.
• Hands-on bench experience with multi-omics platforms.
• Proven leadership of a multi-disciplinary lab or facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, establishment and long-term operation of the multi-omics lab.
• Oversee design, build-out, validation, and tech transfer of platforms.
• Develop governance, quality systems and day-to-day operations.
• Recruit, mentor and manage Lab Managers, scientists and technicians.
• Collaborate with Global HPP, architects, procurement and IT teams.
