Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations and staff.

Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Laboratory Manager to oversee and streamline the daily laboratory operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, operational expertise, and experience managing cross-functional teams. Prior experience in laboratory environments will be a significant advantage.

Quality Management & Compliance

• Ensure that processes required for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 guidelines.

• Ensure laboratory data and test results are accurate, reliable, and of the highest quality.

• Personally review abnormal results, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Ensure laboratory operations comply with company safety and quality assurance procedures.

• Oversee control systems to ensure laboratory-generated information conforms to the Company’s Quality Management System.

• Monitor quality assurance activities and implement necessary improvements.

Technical Oversight

• Method verification and validation

• Proficiency testing and cross-check programs

• Application of statistical techniques

• Review and approval of laboratory data

• Conduct and/or supervise investigations of discrepancies and client complaints.

• Participate in internal and external quality audits as directed by management.

• Stay updated on quality advancements through technical literature and professional meetings.

Operational & Administrative Management

• Ensure smooth daily laboratory operations and resource planning.

• Advise on procurement of laboratory supplies impacting quality.

• Assist management in evaluating staff competencies.

• Support company training initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with the Quality Manager to ensure uniform implementation of the QMS.

• Demonstrate adherence to the Company’s Quality Policy and Procedures at all times.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry

• Minimum 5+ years of experience

• Prior laboratory or lab-based industry experience is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in LIMS software.

• Valid UAE driving license is required.
