Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist - Genomics to provide technical oversight and perform high-complexity molecular and genomic testing within the laboratory's scope. The role ensures accuracy, quality, and timeliness of genomic diagnostic testing through oversight of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.

The Senior Technologist serves as a technical resource for staff, supports competency assessment, method verification and validation, quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
Current DHA license/eligibility for practice in UAE.
Advanced knowledge of molecular diagnostics and genomic workflows.
Familiarity with DHA, CAP, JCI standards and ISO 15189.
Experience with next-generation sequencing and high-complexity platforms.

Responsibilities

Oversee high-complexity molecular and genomic testing within approved test menu.
Review specimen suitability, identification, transport, and pre-analytical variables.
Lead technical workflow, monitor turnaround times, and guide technologists.
Operate and troubleshoot genomic equipment and software, coordinate maintenance.
Support verification/validation of new assays and workflows.
Review data and escalate significant findings to the pathologist or reporting professional.
Lead staff training, competency assessment, and accreditation readiness.
Provide mentoring to students and staff.
