Job summary

Mindtel in Dubai seeks a Senior MS SQL & Oracle Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize production and disaster recovery environments. This role requires hands-on expertise with SQL Server and Oracle, including upgrades and troubleshooting across editions.

You will implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Flashback Data Guard, and log shipping, while monitoring capacity and performance and supporting ASM RAC on Windows Server.

Qualifications

• Senior-level database administration experience with MS SQL and Oracle.
• Experience implementing backup/restore and disaster recovery strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage monitor and optimize production and disaster recovery MS SQL and Oracle database environments.
• Perform installation configuration patching upgrades and troubleshooting for MS SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies including RMAN Flashback Data Guard and log shipping.
• Monitor database capacity performance and system utilization; implement enhancements as needed.
• Manage and support ASM RAC and cluster technologies on Windows Server platforms.
• Conduct database refreshes user administration tablespace resizing storage management index rebuilding and housekeeping tasks.
• Provide technical escalation and incident support in line with SLAs.
• Coordinate with internal teams for planned maintenance system changes and reporting requirements.
• Ensure high database availability and participate in a 24/7 standby/on-call support rotation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders in a live production environment including emergency escalation handling.
• Utilize advanced troubleshooting and optimization skills for database performance replication and cluster issues.
• Develop and maintain operational monitoring and reporting scripts for both Linux and Windows environments.
