We are seeking a qualified and experienced Montessori Specialist Tutor — Secondary (Ages 12–18)to support adolescents through developmentally appropriate, student-centred, and purposeful learning.

The successful candidate will deliver personalised academic and developmental support informed by Montessori adolescent education principles. Lessons should promote independence, self-management, critical thinking, collaboration, practical responsibility, social awareness, and meaningful connections between academic learning and real life.

The tutor may support homeschooled learners, students attending Montessori secondary programmes, adolescents transitioning between Montessori and mainstream curricula, and families seeking a more holistic and individualised approach to secondary education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess each learner’s academic level, interests, strengths, goals, learning habits, and areas requiring support
  • Develop personalised Montessori-informed learning plans for adolescents aged 12–18
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group lessons, projects, workshops, and interdisciplinary programmes
  • Support secondary-level Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, and other subjects within the tutor’s qualifications
  • Connect academic content to practical, social, environmental, entrepreneurial, and real-world contexts
  • Use project-based, inquiry-based, experiential, and interdisciplinary teaching approaches
  • Encourage independent research, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving
  • Support learners in developing study skills, organisation, time management, planning, and task completion
  • Teach adolescents how to set goals, evaluate progress, reflect on their learning, and take increasing responsibility
  • Support portfolio development, research projects, presentations, community initiatives, and practical work
  • Incorporate entrepreneurship, financial literacy, environmental awareness, service learning, or vocational exploration where appropriate
  • Help learners prepare for examinations, school assessments, coursework, and curriculum transitions
  • Support students following British, American, IB, Cambridge, UAE MOE, homeschool, or alternative education pathways
  • Adapt instruction for learners with different academic abilities, interests, and developmental needs
  • Encourage respectful communication, teamwork, responsibility, and positive contribution to the community
  • Support adolescents with confidence, motivation, resilience, and academic independence
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress, goals, challenges, and recommended support
  • Collaborate with subject tutors, counsellors, learning-support specialists, and other professionals where appropriate
  • Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, and clear professional boundaries
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Secondary Education, Montessori Education, Child and Adolescent Development, Psychology, or a relevant academic subject
  • Recognised Montessori adolescent or secondary education qualification, or documented specialist training in Montessori education for ages 12–18
  • MOHRE Tutor Permit or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Montessori, alternative education, project-based, or adolescent learning environment
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, student independence, and experiential learning
  • Subject expertise appropriate to the areas being taught
Preferred Qualifications
  • AMI, AMS, MACTE-accredited, NAMC, or equivalent recognised Montessori adolescent credential
  • PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, or recognised secondary teaching qualification
  • Master’s degree in Education, Montessori Education, Adolescent Development, Curriculum Studies, or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching within a Montessori secondary school or Erdkinder-inspired programme
  • Experience supporting homeschool or alternative education pathways
  • Knowledge of British, American, IB, Cambridge, UAE MOE, or international secondary curricula
  • Experience in project-based learning, entrepreneurship education, service learning, or vocational guidance
  • Training in special educational needs, gifted education, safeguarding, or adolescent wellbeing
UAE Licensing Requirements

Tutors and educational specialists operating in the UAE are required to hold a valid MOHRE Tutor Permit or equivalent work authorisation. Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the relevant permit before providing in-person services. Please ensure compliance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation regulations.

Applicants must provide Montessori educational support only within the scope of their verified qualifications and must not represent tutoring services as an accredited Montessori school programme unless separately authorised.
