Job summary

Agile Consultants in the UAE seeks an experienced MEP Draftsman Coordinator with 3-5 years’ UAE/GCC construction exposure to support planning, execution, and coordination of MEP projects. You will read and interpret MEP drawings, coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.

The role requires strong drafting skills, AutoCAD proficiency, and the ability to manage documentation, meetings, and project progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Drafting.
• 3–5 years of UAE/GCC construction experience in MEP project coordination and drafting.
• Experience as MEP Draftsman/Coordinator within the construction industry.
• Strong ability to read and coordinate MEP shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory; BIM coordination knowledge is an advantage.
• Familiarity with BIM tools (BIM 360, Navisworks) and clash detection processes.
• Ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and manage document control.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, IFC drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site engineers, and project teams.
• Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocations.
• Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works.
• Monitor site progress and prepare periodic project progress reports for management review.
• Organise coordination meetings, technical discussions, and progress reviews.
• Prepare meeting minutes and ensure timely closure of action items.
• Coordinate material submittals, shop drawing submissions, RFIs, method statements, and approvals.
• Maintain project documentation, records, correspondence, and technical files.

Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive MEP Draftsman Coordinator with 3-5 years of UAE/GCC construction experience to support the planning, execution, and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of MEP systems, be capable of reading and interpreting MEP drawings, and assist project managers in coordinating site activities, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments. The role requires effective communication, technical coordination, documentation management, MEP drafting, and project monitoring to ensure successful project delivery within the approved timeline, budget, and quality standards.

• Assist the MEP Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities from commencement to completion.


• Review and interpret MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, IFC drawings, and technical specifications.


• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site engineers, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.


• Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation requirements.


• Assist in resolving technical and coordination issues related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works.


• Monitor site progress and prepare periodic project progress reports for management review.


• Organise and participate in coordination meetings, technical discussions, and progress review meetings.


• Prepare meeting minutes and ensure timely closure of action items.


• Coordinate material submittals, shop drawing submissions, RFIs, method statements, and approvals.


• Maintain project documentation, records, correspondence, and technical files in an organised manner.


• Follow up with procurement teams regarding material requirements, delivery schedules, and supplier coordination.


• Assist in tracking project costs, variations, and additional work orders.


• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.


• Liaise with planning engineers regarding project schedules and work progress.


• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.


• Ensure compliance with project safety requirements and company procedures.


• Act as a communication link between site teams, consultants, clients, and management.


• Prepare, review, and modify MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, and detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD.


• Coordinate MEP drawings with Architectural, Structural, and Civil drawings to identify and resolve clashes before execution.


• Assist in the preparation and submission of shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation for consultant approval.


• Ensure all MEP drawings are updated in accordance with site conditions, consultant comments, and approved revisions.


• Coordinate with site engineers and subcontractors to verify drawing accuracy and constructability.


• Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper document control of all MEP-related drawings and revisions.


• Support BIM/Revit coordination activities, where applicable.


• Prepare as-built drawings and handover documentation upon project completion.

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.


• Minimum 3-5 years of UAE/GCC construction experience in MEP Project Coordination and MEP Drafting.


• Previous experience as an MEP Draftsman, MEP Coordinator, or Technical Coordinator within the construction industry.


• Strong ability to read, interpret, prepare, and coordinate MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.


• Knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM Coordination will be an added advantage.


• Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methodologies, and project coordination processes.


• Hands-on experience in MEP drafting and drawing coordination.


• Familiarity with BIM 360, Navisworks, and clash detection processes.


• Experience in preparing authority submission drawings for DEWA, DCD, DM, DDA, RTA, and other UAE authorities.


• Ability to review and coordinate MEP drawings with multidisciplinary teams during project execution.
