Job summary

Brainstorm Human Resources Consultants in Dubai is seeking an experienced MEP Draftsman to prepare, revise and coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings for building construction projects.

The ideal candidate has UAE project experience, advanced AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with Revit MEP/BIM, able to coordinate disciplines and deliver accurate as-built documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP shop drawings for building construction projects.
• Develop coordinated MEP layouts based on approved design drawings, technical specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare installation drawings, sections, details, layouts and other technical drawings as required.
• Develop and revise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage and firefighting drawings.
• Translate engineering design information into accurate and practical construction drawings.
• Ensure drawing dimensions, annotations, equipment locations and installation details are clear and consistent.
• Incorporate engineering instructions, design revisions and site requirements into drawings.
• Maintain drafting accuracy and consistency across all MEP disciplines.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural and other relevant discipline drawings.
• Identify potential clashes between mechanical services, electrical containment, plumbing systems, drainage networks and structural elements.
• Work with mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers to resolve coordination issues.
• Revise layouts to accommodate approved equipment locations, service routes, ceiling spaces and installation requirements.
• Support coordination meetings by preparing and updating drawings as required.
• Ensure coordinated drawings reflect the latest engineering decisions and approved design changes.
• Assist project teams in reducing site installation conflicts, rework and drawing discrepancies.
• Prepare HVAC shop drawings and layouts for ductwork, mechanical equipment and associated building services.
• Develop duct routing, equipment positioning and installation details in accordance with approved designs.
• Coordinate mechanical services with ceiling layouts, structural beams and other MEP installations.

• Ensure mechanical layouts are consistent with project specifications and approved documentation.
• Prepare and update electrical layouts, cable containment drawings and related service coordination details.
• Develop plumbing and drainage layouts, including pipe routing and relevant installation details.
• Prepare firefighting system drawings in accordance with approved engineering designs.
• Coordinate electrical, plumbing, drainage and firefighting services with other MEP systems.
• Incorporate consultant comments and design changes into the relevant drawings.
• Maintain consistency between individual discipline drawings and coordinated MEP layouts.
• Prepare accurate as-built drawings reflecting actual site installation conditions and approved changes.
• Update drawings based on information received from site engineers and construction teams.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories and documentation records.
• Ensure the latest approved drawings are available to the relevant project personnel.
• Incorporate consultant comments and revise drawings for resubmission and approval.
• Assist with drawing submissions, technical documentation and project handover records.
• Maintain organised electronic drawing files in accordance with project document control procedures.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare, edit and maintain detailed MEP construction drawings.

Position Overview

MEP Draftsman Jobs Dubai are available for experienced technical drafting professionals with a strong background in UAE building construction. We are seeking a skilled MEP Draftsman to prepare, revise and coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings in accordance with approved designs, engineering specifications and project requirements.The successful candidate will have extensive experience preparing MEP shop drawings, coordinated layouts and as-built drawings for building construction projects. Advanced AutoCAD proficiency is essential, while practical experience with Revit MEP and Building Information Modelling (BIM) coordination will be an advantage.This position is suited to an experienced draftsman who can interpret engineering drawings, coordinate multiple building services disciplines, identify potential clashes and work closely with engineers, consultants and site teams to support efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. MEP Shop Drawings and Technical Drafting

• Prepare detailed mechanical, electrical and plumbing shop drawings for building construction projects.
