Job summary

CNS Engineering Service is seeking a qualified MEP Draftsman to develop and coordinate building services drawings in line with design intent. You will produce 2D layouts, SLDs, diagrams, and equipment layouts for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire systems.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor's in a related field, with at least 5 years of MEP drafting experience and proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit MEP and Navisworks is preferred.

• Coordinate with MEP Engineers on design drawings for construction.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP Building Services layouts and detailed 2D drawings (HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire fighting, electrical power, lighting, and low current systems) based on engineers' markups and design intent.
• Prepare schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, single line diagrams (SLDs), and equipment layout drawings.
• Coordinate with MEP Engineers in the preparation of design drawings and details for construction.
• Check drawings for discrepancies, dimensional errors, and inconsistencies, and carry out necessary corrections.
• Prepare spot details, section drawings, and shop drawings for clarity of plans and installation details.
• Responsible for MEP drawing coordination with Architectural and Structural drawings, including ceiling coordination and service routing.
• Assist the BIM team in developing MEP models and resolving clashes identified during coordination.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on site measurements and contractor markups for handover.
• Update drawings per revisions, comments, and RFIs, maintaining proper revision control.
• Ensure drawings comply with local authority requirements (ADM, DMT, Civil Defense, ADDC/TAQA, and others) and project specifications.
• Prepare equipment schedules, material schedules, and cable/pipe/duct schedules.
• Extract quantities and assist in BOQ preparation for MEP components such as pipes, ducts, cable trays, cables, valves, and accessories.
• Make site visits for measurements and verification, for as-built purposes.
• Maintain drawing records and documentation in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman
• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks is preferred.
• Sound understanding of MEP systems, symbols, and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with UAE local authority requirements (Civil Defense, ADM, DMT, utility providers) is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Basic knowledge of engineering sizing for ducts, pipes, and cables is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and dimensioning.
• Good coordination and communication skills to work with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred (for site visits).
• Immediate availability / ability to join on a valid UAE residence visa is a plus.

Additional Information

• Ability to work using modeling software’s such as ( Revit , AutoCAD and other Structure tools)
• Ability to use clash detection software’s such as Navisworks
• Familiar with rebar detailing and steel connection detailing standards
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, GA drawings, and construction documents.
• Experience preparing BOQs, schedules, and shop drawings.
• Ability to use Microsoft office applications
