Job summary

Mace is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager in Dubai to lead the design delivery of a landmark residential community. You will coordinate between consultants, project teams, and authorities to ensure compliant, high-quality MEP solutions aligned with the programme and budget.

You will manage multidisciplinary interfaces, drive value engineering, and support sustainability and energy efficiency within the design strategy for a nature-led, green development.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering.
• CIBSE or IET membership preferred.
• Experience delivering MEP design on large-scale developments.
• Solid knowledge of UAE codes and approval processes.
• Familiarity with BIM processes and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP design delivery across project stages to meet programme and quality goals.

• Monitor design progress and mitigate risks to support success.
• Ensure MEP designs meet client requirements and regulations.

Position status: This opportunity is for a secured role that is due to commence in September, subject to approval.

The project:

A landmark residential community development in Dubai, creating a nature-led living environment that integrates contemporary homes with extensive green spaces, wellness-focused amenities, and sustainable infrastructure. The project is designed to enhance quality of life, foster community connections, and deliver a distinctive, people-centric urban destination.

Accountable for high-quality, safe, and profitable MEP delivery aligned with programme and budget. Leads technical and construction teams, ensuring compliance, governance, and assurance. Builds strong stakeholder relationships and drives performance excellence.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Manage and coordinate the MEP design process across all project stages to achieve programme, quality, and commercial objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration between consultants, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Monitor design progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to support project success.
• Ensure MEP designs align with client requirements, operational needs, and project objectives.
• Manage the delivery and coordination of mechanical, electrical, public health, fire protection, and specialist systems designs.
• Review MEP design deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, local authority regulations, and applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces between MEP, architectural, structural, and infrastructure design teams.
• Monitor design programmes, design deliverables, and consultant performance to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Facilitate design workshops, value engineering studies, and technical review meetings with key stakeholders.
• Support the resolution of design issues and coordinate responses to technical queries during design development.
• Manage design risks, change control processes, and design assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, contractors, operators, and authorities to secure design approvals and project alignment.
• Support sustainability, energy efficiency, and operational requirements within the MEP design strategy for retail and mixed-use developments.

You’ll need to have:

• Degree qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with CIBSE, IET, or an equivalent engineering institution preferred.
• Experience managing MEP design delivery on large-scale retail, mixed-use, commercial, or hospitality developments.
• Good understanding of UAE codes, authority approval processes, and international design standards.
• Knowledge of design management methodologies, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM processes, and project delivery frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, consultants, and competing project priorities within a fast-paced development environment.
