Checkout.com is seeking a leader for External Affairs in the UAE region to shape the company’s reputation with regulators, governments and key partners. You will work across the Legal, Risk and Compliance function, and influence policy as Checkout.com expands in a strategic growth market.

Ideal candidates bring experience in public affairs or government/regulator environments, deep UAE regulatory knowledge, and a track record of building influential relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in external affairs, public affairs agency, in-house role, trade body, government, or financial services regulator.
• Strong understanding of UAE political and regulatory landscape.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence decisions.
• Ability to analyse complex policy and translate it into actionable strategies.
• Calm under pressure with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Comfort with data is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with regulators, government bodies and third parties to position Checkout.com as a strategic partner.
• Lead regulatory enquiries with Legal and Compliance, focusing on narrative and positioning.
• Design and run advocacy campaigns to advance regulatory priorities.
• Analyse UAE fintech and policy developments to anticipate opportunities and risks.
• Craft a UAE-specific external narrative for Checkout.com.
• Represent Checkout.com in industry associations, forums and conferences.
