Job summary

Via Medica International Healthcare is seeking a Medical Coder cum Insurance Coordinator to join our Al Ain clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate medical coding, insurance claims processing, billing coordination, and regulatory compliance to ensure timely reimbursement and adherence to UAE healthcare standards.

The role will be based on-site at the university clinic and will report to the Via Medica International Healthcare office as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in health information management or related field.
• 3–5 years medical coder experience.
• AAPC CPC certification mandatory.
• ICD-10-AM coding certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Infection Control certification.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health insurance regulations and claims processes.
• Hands-on experience with Abu Dhabi insurance platforms (eClaimLink, Daman, Thiqa).
• Experience using EHR/EMR systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-AM and CPT codes using standard coding systems.
• Prepare, submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance claims via eClaimLink, Daman, Thiqa, and other Abu Dhabi providers.
• Coordinate with insurance companies on claim approvals, rejections, and reimbursements.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical billing records and EHR.
• Liaise with physicians, nurses, and reception staff to ensure proper documentation.
• Review documentation to ensure coding accuracy and insurance compliance.
• Assist in applying for insurance network participation when required.
• Generate periodic reports on coding, billing, insurance, and operations for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with DOH/ MOH and internal policies.
