Job summary

ACCEL HUMAN RESOURCE CONSULTANTS is seeking a Mechanical Technician based in Liwa, Abu Dhabi to perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment in a dry process sand plant, ensuring maximum uptime and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires 3–5 years' experience in dry sand processing plants or similar oilfield environments, a Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering, and the ability to work on remote site shifts, nights, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI/Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in dry sand processing plants, aggregate/quarry operations, or industrial/oilfield service environments.
• Will­ingness to work on remote oilfield sites and during night shifts/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability through scheduled maintenance.
• Assist with plant start-up, shutdown, and commissioning activities.

Hiring for Mechanical Technician based in Liwa, Abu Dhabi

Job Purpose

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment in a dry process sand plant. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, and strict compliance with safety and environmental standards required for oilfield service operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Maintenance

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of:
• Crushers, screens, feeders
• Belt conveyors and idlers
• Rotary dryers / fluid bed dryers
• Silos, hoppers, and material handling systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Replace and repair components such as bearings, gearboxes, belts, couplings, shafts, and seals.
• Carry out alignment, tensioning, and lubrication tasks.

2. Equipment Reliability

• Ensure high reliability of plant equipment by adhering to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities.
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.

3. Plant Operations Support

• Assist in plant start-up, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with plant operators to maintain smooth and continuous production.
• Support installation and upgrading of mechanical systems and equipment.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Comply fully with UAE HSE regulations and company policies.
• Follow all safety procedures including:
• Permit to Work (PTW)
• Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)
• Confined Space Entry
• Use required PPE at all times.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and daily reports.
• Complete checklists for preventive maintenance activities.
• Report spare parts requirements and coordinate with stores.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:
• Dry sand processing plants
• Aggregate / quarry operations
• Industrial or oilfield service environments

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of:
• Conveyor systems and material handling equipment
• Crushers, vibrating screens, and dryers
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Hands-on experience with mechanical tools and maintenance practices
