Job Purpose

The Mechanical Technician will carry out routine and corrective maintenance activities for rotating and static mechanical equipment within the assigned field or area. The position is responsible for completing maintenance safely and efficiently, assessing equipment condition, troubleshooting faults and supporting major overhauls, shutdowns, modifications and new installations in accordance with maintenance procedures and HSE requirements.

Mechanical Maintenance

• Receive work orders from the Mechanical Engineer and review equipment maintenance history before starting assigned activities.
• Identify and arrange the consumables, spare parts, tools and other resources required for maintenance work.
• Obtain necessary work permits and certificates in accordance with maintenance procedures and company HSE regulations.
• Perform preventive, corrective, breakdown and predictive maintenance according to work orders and standard maintenance procedures.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance activities safely and within assigned time standards.
• Inspect equipment to determine the extent of repairs required.
• Prepare inspection, failure and overhaul reports based on equipment findings.
• Monitor the condition of rotating equipment visually and through relevant monitoring devices and systems.

Troubleshooting and Equipment Reliability

• Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment faults.
• Apply established fault-finding routines and procedures.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers and other technical disciplines when additional troubleshooting support is required.
• Identify equipment conditions requiring corrective maintenance or further technical assessment.
• Contribute field information required to support reliable operation of rotating and static equipment.

Installation and Shutdown Support

• Carry out new mechanical equipment installations, modifications and testing through the required project stages.
• Perform activities according to approved plans and Mechanical Engineer instructions.
• Participate in major equipment overhauls and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Identify spare parts, special tools and tackles required for overhaul and shutdown work.
• Support testing and return-to-service activities associated with mechanical maintenance.

Maintenance Records and MAXIMO

• Update relevant MAXIMO maintenance records for mechanical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records covering completed maintenance activities.
• Prepare and organize files, drawings, manuals, data sheets and other technical documentation.
• Record maintenance findings and equipment information in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Collect required technical data from the field and provide input for Section progress reports.

Tools and Work Control

• Maintain company-provided tools, safety gear and equipment in safe working condition.
• Arrange repair or replacement of tools and safety equipment that are not fit for use.
• Complete maintenance jobs within assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when additional resources are required to complete work within the specified timeframe.
• Provide input for preparation of Method Statements.
• Initiate Near Miss reports when required.

Policies and Continuous Improvement

• Implement and comply with relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve operating procedures and functional processes.
• Contribute recommendations for modifications to machinery or equipment where improvements are identified.
• Support continuous improvement of mechanical maintenance activities.

HSE and Emergency Response

• Comply with applicable HSE policies, procedures and controls.
• Follow relevant legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, industry practices and ADNOC Codes of Practice.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
• Apply required safety controls throughout maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting activities.

Training and Coordination

• Provide on-the-job training in support of Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
• Maintain regular coordination with Mechanical Engineers.
• Work with Electrical, Instrument and Control, and Operations teams when multidisciplinary support is required.

Minimum Qualification

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred.
• Practical capability in rotating and static mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Experience with preventive, corrective, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
