Job summary

The Mechanical Supervisor - Equipment Maintenance plays an important role in keeping plant equipment safe, reliable, and ready for continuous operation. This position supervises the full maintenance cycle for rotating and static assets, from planning and resource preparation to execution, testing, commissioning, reporting, and closeout. The role supports field teams, contractors, workshops, and materials personnel to ensure maintenance jobs are completed safely, correctly, and within the required schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, maintenance, repair, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities for rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• Plan, schedule, execute, and monitor preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and breakdown maintenance tasks.
• Check that manpower, spare parts, tools, equipment, materials, work permits, and support services are available before starting each maintenance job.
• Inspect ongoing work, track task progress, confirm final completion, and prepare clear reports on job quality and maintenance status.
• Provide technical support for mechanical fault diagnosis, repair methods, equipment refurbishment, shutdown jobs, and major overhaul activities.
• Prepare maintenance scopes of work, contract inputs, cost reports, repair documentation, and technical details required for service or repair jobs.
• Coordinate with contractors, workshops, vendors, and internal teams to ensure repair work meets approved standards and remains cost effective.
• Supervise testing and commissioning of new, repaired, or modified equipment and confirm that all work follows correct methods and safety procedures.
• Participate in shutdown and major overhaul planning, scheduling execution, supervision, and completion reporting.
• Update equipment history, refurbished equipment records, accessory details, and maintenance database information.
• Conduct and participate in daily or weekly safety toolbox talks to discuss hazards, safe work methods, and job execution requirements.
• Prepare lists of spares, tools, consumables, and materials required for scheduled and urgent maintenance work.
• Raise purchase or material requisitions for direct charge and stock materials needed for mechanical jobs.
• Inspect received materials and confirm that technical specifications match actual maintenance requirements.
• Arrange transportation of materials to site and coordinate with workshop supervisors for heavy equipment, lifting, and rigging support.
• Maintain close coordination with operations teams to reduce downtime and support reliable equipment performance.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising mechanical maintenance activities in a large industrial organization.
• Previous experience in oil and gas maintenance environments is preferred.
