Job summary

Star Services seeks an experienced maintenance engineer for offshore assignments in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on rotating equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul tasks within refinery or petrochemical environments.

You will read drawings, perform critical alignments, lubrication, and use diagnostic tools while ensuring safety standards and reporting all activities with accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating equipment in refinery or petrochemical settings.
• Hands-on experience with bearings, valves, lubricants, shaft alignment and related components.

Responsibilities

• Perform replacements of main bearings, connecting rod bearings, pistons, rings and pumps.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals; address compressor malfunctions.
• Carry out shaft alignment, lubrication, sealing and inspection of reciprocating gas compressor components.
• Prepare tools, materials and parts; generate commissioning reports and maintenance records.
• Maintain gas reciprocating compressor packages per design specs and manufacturer guides.
• Troubleshoot compressor performance, efficiency and reliability; adhere to safety protocols.

Job Description

• Hands on experience in replacements of main bearings,connecting rod bearings etc,cylinder valves Pistonrings, riderrings,pistonrods, lube oil pumps etc.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings,schematics,and equipment manuals Ability to perform corrective maintenace to address compressor malfunctions.
• Hands on experince on shaft alignments,lubrication sealings,and inspection of mechanical components of reciprocating gas compressor.
• Prepare tools , materials and spare parts as per maintenance schedules. Prepare accurate and detailed commissioning reports, maintenance records,and documentation of all activities performed and generate reports on system for the equipment performance, maintenance findings, and recommended improvement, Knowledge of safety protocols and hazard analysis technique stop revent accidents and ensure safe workingenvironment.
• Maintenance of gas reciprocating compressor packages according to design specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Familiarity with safety systems and compliance with industry standards ( API, ASME etc) , Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to the compressor package performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Involved in major overhauling,preventive maintenance,and repair tasks of reciprocating gas compressor,.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools,instruments and equipment (Eg.Vibrationanalyzers, pressure gauges etc)

Additional requirements

• Hands on experience on reciprocating compressor and its auxiliaries overhauling , repair and troubleshooting works
• Ability to carry out break down, preventive , predictive maintenance works and troubleshooting works etc
• Good physical requirements to work in confined space and ability to lift parts and tools.

Skills

• Good communication skills ( Good communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments)
• Knowledge of PC tools as, not limited to, Microsoft Office applications like excel, word & access etc.
• Excellent hands‑on experience on maintenance and troubleshooting of reciprocating gas compressors. Knowledge of compressor operation , components and maintenance procedures.
