Job summary

Petrofac is seeking an Engineer I - Projects based in Sharjah, UAE to lead project management activities within the energy sector. The role focuses on coordinating deliverables, procurement interfaces, and vendor management to ensure contract success.

The candidate will interact with engineering, procurement, and sites to resolve issues, monitor schedules, and maintain robust supplier relationships while driving progress against milestones in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Review contract scope, client obligations, schedules, and risk areas; prepare kickoff meeting agenda.
• Finalize deliverables list per contract after coordinating with sites for review and approval.
• Coordinate with engineering to prepare and issue deliverables such as drawings, procedures, calculations.
• Interface with procurement to monitor procurement status and take corrective action.
• Arrange post‑award kickoff with vendors, expedite, monitor vendor deliverables per contract.
• Monitor delivery schedules, identify risks, and liaise with stakeholders to mitigate delays.
• Nurture supplier relationships and participate in supplier performance appraisal.
• Resolve technical issues with suppliers and assess deviations and feasibility of changes.
• Coordinate site queries related to material, NCRs, and drawings; work with teams for solutions.
• Coordinate field expediting at supplier sites, inspection planning, and shipping releases.
• Investigate excess, shortage, and damage (ESD) issues and ensure proper MRB documentation.
• Assist in invoicing instructions and supplier payments against milestones; monitor progress.
• Approve freight charges and advise on shipping modes; manage field expediting decisions.
• Perform any other duties as required by the Project Manager.
